A fresh grad who finds herself waking up after lunch (GMT+8, mind you). She is into videogames, anime & manga , certain book genres, a bit of music, and dogs. An introvert, she is generally slow in warming up unless she sees that a person has at least a common interest. She knows too little of HTML so she had to download this pre-made layout.

A Night With A "Super Novice"

Last night was spent watching a "super novice" in action. A super novice, in Ragnarok Online (a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, in case you don't know. What a MMORPG is, that's your problem), is somebody in the novice job class with a very high level. All players in this game start out as a novice and normally, they stay in that job class until they reach at level 10 at least, unless the player doesn't know how he/she will change his/her character's job. In the case of the super novice, the player retains his/her character as a novice in his/her playthrough in that the character is now in a level where almost all the other players have changed their characters' job. (Note: you can't change your character back to its former job once you chosen a particular job.) For example, when one is in level 50+, people will expect that the character will be nearing a second upgrade of job. Instead, the character has remained a novice all through out.

Why the apostrophe marks? The "super novice" that I've watched was not a real super novice. It was just my brother's character donning a pair of purple glasses. Those who play RO would know that purple glasses cost 24,000 zeny (the currency of RO). Novices don't get that rich unless they kill a LOT of monsters and sell the items that they receive after battle. When one fights, they earn experience points which are needed to level up. It is impossible for a novice below 40 to get that rich. So how did my brother get those purple glasses? He has another character, a swordsman, at level 52. He grew tired leveling up his swordsman to become a knight so he decided to create a new character which he intended to become a thief because it takes lesser time leveling thieves up to become assassins, which are very powerful. He unequiped his swordsman and transferred the items to his novice. He also made his character wield an expensive weapon as well, so people believed him to be a super novice (they can't view your current level). It was amusing how people interacted with the "super novice". Acolytes and priests heal him for free without asking, newbies ask for his help, other gamers voiced their amazement... the "super novice" gets respect. Too bad that in order for my brother to transfer his swordsman's zeny to his "super novice"/newly-inducted thief, he needs another player to hold his zeny while he switches characters. With the possiblity of scamming, whocan he trust? If he ever feels like going back to his swordsman while retaining his thief, he can buy decent equipment for his swordsman.

Yesterday, we had Swimming. Last week, I felt like jeering almost all of my blockmates for planning to drop the course over petty reasons when the situation is obviously futile, much like I felt when having a showbiz issue on the frontpage of newspapers. Trying to drop it did prove my prediction; their parents did not allow them. Even if some of them were successful, it's their problem if Swimming appears again on the next term. Of course, I did not bugged them about it because it's their agenda. Anyway, when we were dismissed, a friend of mine slipped at the side of the pool. I was not able witness the event taking place for I've hitted the showers at the time. He hit the floor face down, his mouth bleeding. And he wears braces. OUCH! A tooth was removed while four others were moving. I've been told by another friend that he'll be back tomorrow, having missed yesterday and today's classes (Swimming is our first course of the day). GET WELL, BRY!!!=)

Layout's still hasn't changed, but guess what? Quizzes are already poping up this early already. I also lack the know-how in layout so please bear with me. I've also changed the blog's name because the first one sounds too corny, ya know? (Ack, I'm sounding like Raijin! Need... to play... less FF) Anamnesis, if I'm correct, means memory. It's opposite - amnesia. Blogs contain accounts of persons who want it read by others, no matter how meaningful or meaningless it is to the readers. Besides, I remember going to a website which featured simmilarities between most blog, mainly by anime otakus (fans) and gamers. Might as well conform to one of these simmilarities just for the heck of it =P Surely, a more creative and appropriate title is better, but that shows how much I lack of the former.
